CFUL and Wells Fargo launch new cohort in groundbreaking Entrepreneurship and Small Business program

Orlando, March 13, 2024 – With small businesses serving as the backbone of our economy – employing about half of the local workforce - the Central Florida Urban League has once again partnered with Wells Fargo to upskill a new cohort of entrepreneurs.

Dozens of prospective entrepreneurs and current small business owners will go through a detailed training program which will teach core concepts needed to run any successful business. These concepts include recognizing and evaluating opportunities; planning for, starting, and operating a business as well as marketing, sales and financial management. Furthermore, those enrolled in the program will also receive training and mentoring vis-à-vis how to properly develop a pitch deck and obtain seed funding/venture capital.

“The Central Florida Urban League is proud to partner with Wells Fargo to deliver this program to our community,” said Enid Munfus, Interim President and CEO. “Those enrolled in this program will graduate with a solid foundation to help kick-start their success in their respective industries.”

“Without funding from Wells Fargo, the CFUL would not be able to continue to offer this successful program,” added Paula Hoisington, Chairwoman of the CFUL. “The return of their investment can be seen in the jobs created by our entrepreneurs and small business owners as well as their sustained growth year over year.  On behalf of the CFUL, I would like to thank them for our continued partnership.”

In addition to Wells Fargo, many CFUL partners, such as the African American Chamber of Commerce, BizLink Orange County and the Orlando Economic Partnership will complement the program and ensure that graduates have access to as many resources as possible to ensure their success.
